Leader - Process post

This is my typical process painting on raw wood

-If i’m trying to make it look like someone in particular, I grid out my canvas/wood so I get all the proportions correct.

-I sketch a basic outline of the model and begin to layer in my paint. I go over with a wash of lights and darks and blend as I go. I build up until I get the right amount of transparency.

-Then I start to work in other details, hair, eyes, lips. I go back over a final wash of the skin to get a smoother look. I let it dry & seal it to get a pretty shine & to protect the painting.

I think this is such a cool painting. I love the fact that it was painted on wood and that you can see the wood through her skin. Very unique.
